Now that the holidays is over, I am bored. I wish the shows I watch were returning this week

I am tempted to marathon Scandal in the interim

So I read "666 Park Avenue" will return and they have apparently worked out the last few episodes to lead to a series finale. But the shows ratings in the last few episodes have had an incredible spike! So much that one of the actors from the show said they f'ed up by cancelling it. He was referring to the ABC brass of course. But it seems ABC is still standing by their decision.

I just found out that they're doing a Sex and the City prequel. O.o

It's called "Carrie Diaries" and I saw a preview here: http://www.hulu.com/...laylist_id=1031

I really, really don't think it's going to be successful, but hey, maybe I'm wrong.

What a waste. Do we really need a prequel to "Sex and The City"? I bet many people will watch but seriously, it just seems like a very sad and desperate attempt at something that they see dollar signs around. I can't wait to see all of the bad actors they'll cast.

I just saw this too the other day. At first I was slightly intrigued but then I thought, they really need to let well enough alone. Sex and The City was a great run. Just let it be. People need to stop already and not ruin a good thing.

Um, why are we seeing a Halloween episode of The New Normal?

I can only assume that these were intended to be aired late last year....but I don't remember there being an unexpected break in this show's lineup. I guess I missed that. Oh well.

~Edit~ After watching more of it, it's not that it was a delay/break in the series....this episode is just completely out of place. This one was supposed to come right after the fake wedding (Nana shows up the first time after wrecking the wedding) and Rocky doesn't have the baby yet.

Could it have been a rerun?

Sometimes the networks choose the must bizarre episodes to air during the hiatus

Nope. Not only have I been watching all of the episodes and would have recognized it, but I looked up the lineup:

http://en.wikipedia....rmal_(TV_series)

It shows that Para-normal, the one I just watched, is the current/18th episode. So it's just out of order, for whatever reason.

"666 Park Avenue" is supposed to return this Summer now instead of returning in January. I hope they don't cancel the show but giving it a Summer slot is a trap. No one is really home during the Summer. They're out doing other activities. Even on a Sunday night.

I have to agree. The second movie was just completely pointless. As an audience we learned nothing new about the characters, and nothing really changed or happened. I really don't see the need for them to do a prequel now, but it WILL generate money becuause Sex and the City is massive and I know many people who don't care if the content sucks; they just want more time with their favorite characters.

But the problem with a show like "Sex and The City" and any potential spin offs is that we already know what it's gonna be about. The characters want, and love SEX and anything SEX related. So it's not like we're gonna be learning anything new here.

I tend to agree. At the same time, because we already know what they grow into, it's interesting to see how their early lives were molded and how they turned into what they did. For anyone who didn't watch the original, this show can mostly stand on its own without the future details, too.

I assumed because they hung out together the sex-crazed behavior just spread among them. Kind of like how you eventually become who you hang out with. I dunno, call me crazy.

Have you been watching the series, Nick?

That might be how it turns out, but as for now, Carrie is still a virgin, which is strange considering what she grows into later. I would've expected her to be the one who lost her virginity first.

Not new, but new to me. After reading this article on the Daily Beast, I decided to give Banshee on Cinemax a try and I enjoyed it more than I should admit. It's extremely violent and unbelievably trashy, but the storytelling is really good and the lead Antony Starr is so freaking hot. Season two started on Friday and it picked up where season one left off perfectly.

Also, the character Job gives life. Glad he's back for the second season and is just as fierce. Lol!

Oh boy. Banshee. I saw the pilot but was dismayed at the liberties they took. The chase in the city did me in.

That was nothing compared to the episode 8 epic fight between Olek and Anna that lasted forever! Though gory and long, the scene was not as cringe worthy as others - you know Lucas' jail fight against the albino.

Ratings mean nothing. NBC is cut throat. "Surface" had good ratings. Where is it now? Gone. "Heroes" they just royally messed up that show to the point where they had to put the damn thing out of its misery. And what was that show they started earlier this year where the president was a black guy and Jason Ritter was in it? It's gone now too. NBC=poison.

Oh goodness.... Now I am worried. I just started watching the new show Chicago PD. It is not my favorite show ever, but I think it is growing on me. I enjoy the characters, but it is on NBC. It is the first NBC show I have ever watched... They really cancel everything?
