Summer basically started for me when season 4 of Arrested Development came out. Besides that, I'm still waiting for some of my favorite shows to start. I'm looking forward to the new (and now last) season of Futurama, even though I'm disappointed that it was canceled. Adult Swim tends to premiere their shows in the summer, so I'll be watching Childrens Hospital, among others. Venture Bros. started its first new season since 2010, which is ridiculous if you ask me.

Since summertime shows are short-lived, I've decided to start a thread to discuss what you're watching this summer that doesn't already have its own topic.

I just checked out Mistresses on ABC and it's soapy enough to keep my attention for the summer. Apparently, it is a remake of a BBC series under the same title that aired a few years ago.

Anyone else watching? If not, what are you watching?

House of Cards.  I have been meaning to watch it but a thread here reminded me so now its on my netflix  instant queue

I'll rather watch paint dry than Mistresses. I like most of the actresses but the previews make it seem like it belongs on a telenovela channel

Well, that's why Mistresses was slotted for summertime fodder. LOL! You noticed it took The Glass House time slot from last summer.

I keep meaning to watch House of Cards too, but I haven't gotten there yet. Once BB starts, I won't have any time to watch anything else online.

I will be checking out Mistresses. I read the synopsis and it doesn't sound nearly as blatant as the name suggests. I like the stars so I will give it a whirl. I don't even know what other new shows are coming this summer. I have almost lost touch with summer TV because I am always outside and when I get in, I am working to catch up on everything I didn't do during the day.

Probably True Blood and Falling Skies. The only weekend nights I am home during the Summer is Sunday nights since I have to work the next day.

Or TIVO I know. But why DVR or TIVO stuff I don't care to see? If I am TIVO'ing it has to be something I will surely watch when I return home. And there aren't too many shows that grab my attention this time of year.

I definitely watching America's Got Talent. I have enjoyed that program for several seasons now, and I look forward to it every Summer. I am also watching a program on CBS called the Bakers Challenge or something like that, it seems to be a good baking competition show. But other then that I'm not really getting into anything else, just more or less watching classic TV channel, more then anything else.

Are you watching Big Brother this year? I tried last year but it is too time consuming. I could just watch the episodes but so much is left out

No I have never watched Big Brother. I think I tried waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when the show first ever, aired and started. I couldn't get into it. I di remember a season where someone cleaned the toilet with a roommates tooth brush. And it almost led to a physical confrontation. But nah, I prefer The Real World to Big Brother.

Why is it that summer time television just bores me? As sad as it sounds, the only thing I am actually looking forward to is Switched at Birth. Although I don't have high hopes.

Because no ones home dude lol. People are on vacay, holiday, hanging out, Summer School, traveling the world, etc. Networks won't don their best shows until fall/winter when the weather and "life" forces people to be doing the 9 to 5 and then come home to cook dinner and watch t.v. thing.

I will for sure be watching True Blood and Big Brother. I know Breaking Bad will be airing towards the end of the summer as well. I also saw someone else mention Dexter, I’m not sure when it starts exactly but I will definitely be watching.

Under the Dome

The concept is intriguing but it doesn't have staying power. The setup is literally constricting.

I need more time before I can decide  but my first impression of the main characters but I do know that Junior is a psycho

Is it just me, or is there absolutely NOTHING on Tuesday nights? I really dread Tuesdays for this reason.... ugh, am I actually going to be forced to go out into the real world and do the unspeakable? Thats right, socialize with other live beings.... oh say it ain't so....

Well, where I live its always good weather.... we don't even have seasons in South Florida.... the summer of course is the hottest and we stay in with the a/c.... am I asking too much for a little entertainment?

I will be watching Switched at Birth, Big Brother 15, The Fosters, Continuum, and catching up on Pretty Little Liars (as well as many other shows in between). This summer is definitely packed with a lot of great shows, and I am looking forward to using them as my relaxation time away from work.

I'm watching Mistresses; there's nothing on in that slot right now and it has actors I like. I find the fact that the show exists more interesting than the theme of people messing around on their partners, but last night's episode was a big surprise - since when is two women kissing in the shower not considered soft porn? Primetime TV has come a long way!

That new show, Devious Maids, is kind of interesting as well (though for the same reasons).
